Niel Robertson of Trada on TWiST

This Week in Startups episode #47 featured Niel Robertson, who is the Founder and CEO of Boulder based Trada.  Props to @Jason and the crew for a nice website redesign.

Trada, which launched a couple of weeks ago, has developed the 1st PPC (Pay Per Click) marketplace for agencies, advertisers and PPC experts.  According to the Trada website advertisers create a new paid search campaign, PPC Experts within the Trada marketplace join the campaign, ads begin running on the Google, Yahoo and Bing ad netwroks, click and conversions are generated, and PPC Experts earn money.

Trada recently received $2.2M in Series A funding.

During the interview the conversation turns to the Boulder / Denver tech scene at roughly the 53:00 mark.  There is specific dialog about the benefits of being in a 2nd tier startup city.  You can advance the playhead on the video player above to skip to that point or any point in the video.

Andy Smith of Daily Burn on TWiST

Andy Smith, CEO and Co-Founder of Daily Burn, a social networking fitness site that allows you to track what you eat and record your workout, was recently on This Week in Startups.  Andy and Jason talk about TechStars starting at the 28:00 mark in the video (you can advance the playhead to that point in the video).  At 56:46 they turn their attention to Daily Burn and Andy talks about life after TechStars, fundraising, bootstrapping and what is next for the company.

Video - Open Angel Forum Colorado

Colorado's first Open Angel Forum event took place last night in Boulder, CO. We had the opportunity to interview Jason Calacanis, founder of the event, and talk with a few of the presenters to get their comments about this new format.

BDNT Video February 2, 2010

We were able to successfully live broadcast the February Boulder New Tech Meetup.  The event provided an opportunity to test the Ustream Producer desktop client that was released this week.  The application allows for mixing audio, video and graphics in real-time.

The room was filled to capacity, likely due to Jason Calacanis' presence and candid "fireside chat" about the Colorado chapter of the Open Angel Forum, which begins February 3rd.  Here is the full archived broadcast from the #BDNT in all of its 1:10:55 glory.  The audio during Jason's talk is very low.  We plan on fixing this and re-posting his entire talk shortly - stay tuned.
