Late last week we interviewed Micah Badwin about a number of topics surrounding Graphic.ly, a startup creating a digital platform around comics.  The interview is divided into four parts and the full audio can be downloaded or listened to at the bottom of this post.

In part one Micah Baldwin, CEO and Chief Community Caretaker, explains what Graphic.ly brings to the world of comic books, how he got involved with the start-up and the overall landscape of online comic book communities.

Part two discusses the recent acquisition of iFanboy and what it means for Graphic.ly.

In part three  Micah talks about their new hire, Charley Hine, and how Graphic.ly plans to apply location data to the experience of reading digital comic books.

Tom Keller: Connecting with your Customers

The University of Colorado New Venture Challenge hosted Tom Keller, formerly the CEO of Intense Debate, a TechStars company from the 2007 class that was acquired by Automatic in Q4 of 2008.  Automatic is the company behind Wordpress. Tom is a serial entrepreneur with a history of founding and leading startups and mentoring other entrepreneurs. As the title suggests, Tom's talk focused on connecting with your customers. In this video Tom talks about the history of Intense Debate from his perspective. Tom breaks down various methods of traditional advertising and stresses the importance of word of mouth advertising and the need for "raving fans" talking abut your product. Our recording suffered in terms of audio quality so we decided to only make a couple of video clips available. If you want to listen to the entire presentation feel free to download or play the following mp3: click here to download the mp3

More info on Tom can be found on his blog - tkeller.com and @tkeller
